What does one do when they make ok money, but are falling further behind? The straw that broke the camels back was doing taxes and finding out I owe 1000 bucks.Man this sucks. Can I blame it on bush? That would make me feel better.

3. How did you end up owing so much?
Did you cash in some stocks or take money out of a 401k?

17. Mine were at 2 all year.
Federal return: $7
State return: $49

Cost to file online: $34

I've always come out more or less even when I leave it at 2 exemptions.

15. I'm broke too.
But I've got a full bottle of Jim Beam so I'm happy. :)

Call the IRS and make payment arrangements. They'll take a few dollars a month as long as you're paying on it. Personally, if I do my taxes and come up owing, I put them aside and don't file them until the evening of April 15th.

First thing you'll want to do is change your exemptions. I do single claiming zero. I'd rather have too much taken out than get nailed at the end of the year for them.

Oh, and it's Bush's fault. :)
