All time Red Sox team
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 09:39 PM by YANG
Because I beleive we are about to see a historic Cubs/Red Sox Wrold Series (which will cause the end of the world)I am going to list my all time Red Soz and Cub teams so you guys can argue about it. First the Red Sox.

Right Handed Pitcher-Pedro (cuz Fuck Clemens thats why, Id take Tiant next)
Left Handed Pitcher-Left Grove
Closer-Geez, I guess Sparky Lyle?

Catcher-Carlton !
First Base-I think Im gonna go with Rudy York because Cecil Cooper's best years were with Milwaukee.

Second Base- Bobby Doerr

Third Base- uuuhhhh....Joe Foy?

Shortstop- NOMAH!

Left Field - Teddy Ballgame

Center Field- Tris Speaker

Right Field - Im taking Dewey here. He was underrated offensively and besides I like him.

Thats a pretty good team. Please feel free to post additions subtractions or personal favorites.

P.S. How could I forget Boggs at third? I love chicken?

I loved that big guy.

How about Foxx at First? He'd be my choice.

And no Yaz in the outfield?

On edit - I guess you can't have 2 left fielders. Duhhh. :)

6. They didn't make the cut
when I pick all time teams I don't go for a whole rotation. Its just my habit, its not a social more or anything.

Grove is the greatest left handed pitcher of all time.

Cy deserved more of my attention but I think I would still take Pedro.

12. That was a typo
I meant underrated (and edited it) because he had a low average but walked a lot and hit with power.

Some trivia:
Stephens tied with teammates for RBI title two years in a row..

In 1950, Red Sox hit .302 as a team, with 1027 runs scored..

Even Birdie Tebbets hit over .300.

15. More: Don Baylor
cuz w/o him to motivate the troops and hit his own prodigous shot in game 5 vs. Angels we never would have made it to Shea Stadium.
He was the "glue" in fact for the '86 team.

also Dennis Eckersley (damn why did we trade him?)
