I'm getting pop-up ads

with Firefox!! Only when I connect to DU... and has nothing to do with the current donation grovelling. I have it set to block pop-ups. Cookies are denied. Spybot/SpywareBlaster, AdAware and my anti-virus are all up to date and have been run and come back clean. I don't use any peer-to-peer software. They're still getting through. Sigh... I guess it was only a matter of time.

Has anyone else noticed this behaviour? I've been noticing it since mid-week.

I have to go to work. I'll check back to see if anyone responds to this.

To the Macolytes amongst us... I am stuck using a PC until the city (I work in a municipal facility) agrees to switch over... until then if I want to work from home I have to use a PC. Please don't tell me to "get a Mac"... it's not helpful.

I live at DU when online, use Firefox, and have anti-adware software...No problems.

At least I now know it's not that my computer has been compromised by some malevolent entity. It still doesn't explain why they are suddenly getting past the Firefox block - which has worked up until now.

I have a Mac and use Firefox, so I became very concerned when DU produced these pop-ups/pop-enders, thinking they were spyware. Good to know.

10. I get them ocassionally with Firefox, and only on DU...they are pop-unders

so, I assume that is why they get past the block preference. I don't get them every time... I just notice them once every dozen or so times I go to the DU home page. They're innocent ones though... so I just close them.
