3. Which is the one with the ents?
I love the trees that beat the crap out of the big evil industrialist chopping down the forest. Those ents should be the symbol of the environmental movement.

20. yep.
tolkien was a huge conservationist, as is demonstrated by every enemy in his mythos cutting down trees, burning stuff, and generally destroying everything green.

22. I'm glad they showed that in the movie
at least in an obvious way for one scene.

26. yea.
well, they show it a couple times: at isengard, several times; and in osgiliath when sam makes his little speech, also when merry gives pippin the idea to go by isengard...

all in all, i'd say the movies show tolkien's intent fairly well. there are things i would have changed, but that's true of anything.

12. I voted for Helms Deep for its intensity
But you forgot the one in the Mines of Moria in Fellowship. I thought that one had the coolest scenery.

Legolas' take-down of the oliphaunt, and Gimli's "That's still just one." comment afterwards.

14. "Begone foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion!"
The Pellenor Fields.

My two cents: Jackson's film verged on being a waste of time. It "retells" Tolkien, but somehow manages to avoid the "feel" that was Tolkien. Every time I finish reading LOTR, I leave Middle-earth wanting more. When I left the theater after each film, I felt tired.

I could have made the whole trilolgy in one two-hour film, and it would have been exciting and action-packed like Jackson while retaining the feeling of Tolkien. I just need some funding is all...

15. Your "feel of Tolkien" may not be everybody's "feel of Tolkien"
I like the PJ version but other interpretations would work.

Do let us know when you get funding! How many films have you made so far?

21. i love the ents pounding isengard into the dust.
but the beginning battle, against sauron himself, is awesome. i love how the elves' arrows push elrond's hair out of the way bc they're so close.

27. Roherian vs. orcs--two reasons. 1) no one voted for it yet, and 2.)
it's hard to compare it to the other ones--they're all epic battles--this is more of a squirmish. Yet I think it was very well done--good pacing, and took just about the right amount of time.
