In a 1000 years, it will have evolved to the point where we would not understand it. Picture trying to talk to a person in 1005. If you were able to pick out one word in 5, you would be doing well. If that person could understand one word in 100 of what you were saying - you get the idea.

Not to mention what communication might be like then. They could all be connected to a giant hive network - or they could be living in small isolated communities with local dialects. Unless suitable energy sources are developed (and soon) the world population is likely to be less than it is now.

Language grows and changes with the intermingling of cultures. I can't see how, in what is now a largely ever-increasingly global society, this wouldn't happen. Granted, there will be some exceptions with slight cultural and regional dialects, but overall, I'm pretty sure if society progresses at a similar global level (i.e. we don't just all kill ourselves first through nukes or slow with environmental poisoning) this will happen.
