Robot Movie - Plz Suggest a good robot movie for kids that I am likely to
find at blockbusters. Preferrably animated but anything that is primarily robots and not violent would be ok

TIA

1. What about that one done by the Invincibles guy?

I can't remember its name, but it was supposed to be quite good and underrated.

ON EDIT: The Iron Giant

12. Seconded. Very good.
Some parts could be scary for the youngest kids but all in all it is Anti-Violence, and has a very uplifting message.

Whatever you do though...

Under any circumstances...

Do NOT --- EVER! ---give a kid near you a copy of---

shudder :scared:

"The Brave Little Toaster."

Not robots but walking and talking.....appliances!!!

It is horrendous and it is like kiddie crack.

One viewing and it's like they lose their minds.
They'll have to watch it over.
and over.
and over.

HORROR at the MEMORY!
the songs!

You will scratch your ears bloody.

Beware of---
"The Brave Little Toaster!"

8. Short Circuit I and II, link
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091949/

"Short Circuit" is a watchable film about a military robot who gets zapped by lightning one day and develops a mind of his own ala "Frankenstein". He becomes interested in the world and meets a young lady (Ally Sheedy). However the military is trying to track him down and destroy him, believing that he could be dangerous. "Police Academy" alums Steve Guttenberg and G.W. Bailey do fair jobs here. "Short Circuit" is a rather curious film that is far from being excellent, but is far from being a turkey as well. Average to say the least. 2.5 out of 5 stars.

16. Concur, the Iron Giant is one of the best kid's movies out there.
It's a superb movie that takes a liberal view of alot of things, but also is unafraid to look at religious issues -- subtlely for a change -- and how the choices we make influence what we become.

However, you might also take a good look at the new movie Robots coming out in mid-March. Robin Williams is one of the stars, and it looks very amusing.
