do you suppose that words, like “cotillion” and “soirée” might see a comeback?

How about "spats" and "lackey"

Or,phrases like "my man...." when referring to the butler.

We can only hope that words like "flogging" and "racking" don't see a resurgence.

1. perhaps a caste system will evolve

rich white conservatives being the top caste

poor white twice born fundamentalist christians next

then the darker skinned lackeys (since the men in power don't really need them, and the poor white fundies will need to be "better" than someone so they surely won't want to associate with them)

and finally liberal riffraff being lowest of the low - "untouchable"

2. Soiree

I definitely see your point, however it must be pointed out that since "soiree" is a French word its use would only be acceptable if accompanied by the word "freedom." Therefore, a "freedom soiree" would be the only way to go. :-)
