Avatar question... morphing into a Franklin Pierce thread...

I uploaded a new avatar and it shows on the upload/update page after I hit 'update profile.'

But when I go to the forums, it's not there.

Please help. Is my stupidity to blame, or are demons afoot?

The avatar is now up and running and anyone who wants to talk about Franklin Pierce, well, we'll leave the light on for ya.

1. That happens to me sometimes...

Usually quitting the browser will work, but if that doesn't, try clearing your History and Cache, and then quitting your browser, that always does the trick. :)

That is, a fan of the human being Franklin Pierce.

Not so crazy about his pro-slavery positions, etc.

You're probably the only person in the history of DU to have a Franklin Pierce avatar. :D

8. I'm writing a screenplay about him.

His wife, Jane, was a religious nutcase of the first order, especially after losing all her children to early deaths, and blaming her husband for the deaths, claiming that God was punishing them for Pierce's run for the White House. She wouldn't even move into the White House while he was president and spent her time in near reclusion, writing letters to her dead children.

Pierce was a spectacular failure politically but he seemed to inspire true and deep friendships on a personal basis. He just fascinates me.

Only demons can do that sort of trickery.
