I hate scolding my dogs!
Fortunately, I very seldom have to do it, because they are both quite well-behaved; however, on those rare occasions when I do scold one or the other, they are instantly so contrite and get that "Oh my Lord and Master, I am sooooooooo sorry for doing whatever I did--- please tell me that you still love me" look, that I almost feel like a monster.

*sigh*

2. Brody scarfed a biscuit off of the table w/o permission.
I went to get some OJ, and while my back was turned, he helped himself to a biscuit. Not exactly a life-or-death issue, but definitely crossing over the line of what's acceptable behavior.

6. I patted his head about 15 seconds later.
I didn't want him to think I was gonna be mad at him forever over a lousy biscuit, of course.

5. We have one.
You're right. He always looks vaguely offended whenever I raise my voice to him.

:P

7. You can say that again.
They have eyes that say, "How dare you lowly human raise your voice at me and assume authority over my behavior!"

8. Actually you're lucky.
My dogs look at each other with a "yeah, he's yelling now, but in a few minutes he'll give us a cookie and say he's sorry" look. :-)

9. They have the very good grace to act contrite immediately.
They're actually VERY good boys, 99.44/100ths % of the time.

:)
