Holy shit, what a difference a day makes.

Tuesday: Cubs lose to Marlins in 11 innings. Wednesday: Cubs clobber Marlins 12-3. I guess this is the Prior Effect; but that doesn't explain the 12 runs they got against the Marlins pitcher.

We watch by muting the TV and listening to the WGN commentary. My favorite moment was the Ron Santo replacement guy (Steve someone) saying, "And now they're going to intentionally walk Sammy Sosa...because it's crucial to cut off that all-important twelfth run." He's come up with a couple neat little deadpan gems like that, including, "Derek Lee is a guy who strikes out a lot, and it's not because he's selective."
