Watched some Growing up Gotti last night

Disreagarding the fact the boys are complete idiots. Why does Victoria seem to hire the biggest morons in the world to work for her? The real laugh though is how she almost pretends her life isn't based off the proceeds of crime.

Disclaimer - I have never watched this show. But it is certainly marketed using the reputation of mobster John Gotti. He was responsible for the deaths of countless people - yet A&E somehow thinks it's okay to cash in on this and glamorize it. I think it's appalling.

4. They found some of his victims this fall - just as the show was debuting

and Victoria made some comment to the press that was just mind-blowing. She shouldn't be held accountable for her father's sins, but she sure doesn't give a damn about what he did.

5. No, she is certainly not responsible for her father's sins.

But,as you said, she doesn't appear to be too concerned about them, either. And I find A&E's marketing strategy disturbing - they seem to have no qualms cashing in on the gangster "glamour".

It's one thing to enjoy watching the Godfather or the Sopranos - they are fictional. Gotti's victims weren't, and I think it's dreadful to try to cash in on his image.

11. Far stupider and more annoying. Yesterday (hubby watches, I

try to avoid it) they had SUBTITLES for the kids. They speak a language as yet unknown to the rest of the world.

8. Watching the Gotti's is no worse than watching Bush

John Gotti had people killed.
George W. Bush has people killed.
John Gotti stole thousands.
George W. Bush stole billions.
John Gotti was a career criminal that had spent time in prison.
George W. Bush is a career criminal and because of his connections never spent a day in prison.
