How many kids will now smoke pot because Bush did?
I think both Clinton and Bush screwed up on the pot issue. I don't think the majority of voters care about whether a President used pot as a young man. The fact they both lied, or in Clinton's case just half lied, said more than just admitting they used pot.

1. Not to state the obvious, but Bush never takes responsibility for anything
past, present, or future. Its not in his "constitution".

18. Well, that is true.
The thing that he really could have taken responsibility for was Abu Ghraib, at least that is the thing he didn't take responsibility for that ticked me off the most.

5. Well I have always put myself in the position of the President
or better yet, if I were the President, what would I say. Unequivocally, I would say that I tried and used a variety of drugs in my youth, but because of good parenting, a bit of wise decision making on my part, and a realization that drugs really weren't helping me in the long run, I quit. For kids, I would hope that they would see that even if mistakes are made you can still pull yourself up and go on with life. I would never run or hide from my past. It just leads to problems and believe me if I ever were a public figure I would come clean very early. I have a whole lot of baggage!!!! ;)

6. None......................
Pot-smoking presidents has been the non-story of the past 15 years. The repubs beat the drums about the Clinton "I didn't inhale" lie, and hopefully the Dems will highlight the hypocrisy of the drug war and stay quiet on the Bush story. However, I doubt it.

none of which alone or collectively have amounted to much with our press.

21. Nothing will come of it.
Bush has lied, bullied, stolen, ordered murder, committed crimes, cheated, abused alcohol and drugs, and Freepers everywhere continue to defend him, exonerate him, make up excuses for him. If a Democrat had been accused, let alone guilty, of a fraction of the stuff * has done, impeachment and ousting would have been a given.

8. Not the 500 Baptist school kids who stormed out yelling, "Bush! Bush!"

when the speaker told them that Jesus said, "Blessed be the peacemakers," which means Jesus did not say, "Blessed be the warmakers."

These kids have been subjected to strict psychological conditioning (and often sexual abuse) from an early age, and they know enough to do what they're told and ignore what adults might do that conflicts with what those same adults tell them to do.

If their abusers tell them that Bush* is a man of God, not even God Himself could convince them otherwise.

I grew up in a household where my parents hated me and constantly ridiculed me, denigrated me, and slapped me around. I never got any love or support. But since I was totally dependent upon them for food, clothing and shelter, and got no outside support, I sincerely believed that they loved me and I loved them. That's what I had to believe in order to survive, so despite all evidence to the contrary, that's what I believed. It took many years before I was able to admit that I didn't love them, and many, many more years before I was able to admit that they'd never loved me.

Bush's base believes he can do no wrong because that's what they have to believe in order to keep their jobs, their church membership, their community standing, their friends, their family, etc. So that's what they'll believe even if he shits on a Bible in front of them.

14. A smoke screen, so to speak...
and weirdly, in the tape he even implies that he used coke as well... but it's all about the pot. Which of course, no one really cares about. It's all over the news though...

So I just decided, what the hell? Yeah, Todd, pass that on over. Wanna teach me to what? To shotgun it? Well, okey dokey! Hey a future wicked evil president has done this, so why the hell not?

So see he corrupted me before he even thought of running.

25. Well, he is the pre-emptive president
He pre-empted me, too. In fact, I had gone through my whole drug-use phase and gotten out of it years before he was put in office.

22. Really, this is just wrong
No kid is going to smoke pot just because the head goober did. If anything, he's a deterrent. Of course, his brain damage would have nothing to do with the COCAINE, right?

Here are some other silly things that they said would happen. Did they happen to you or anyone you know?

Did hearing about Clinton and Monica make you get/give a blowjob?

Did Joe Camel ever make you want a cigarette?

Did Spudz ever make you want a Bud Light?

Did candy cigarettes make you want the real ones?

why did he run for president? I think of that wanker in charge, and I want something to "calm my nerves."
