8 or eight?

Ever since I was an editor of my high school newspaper in the late 90s, I've been a stickler when typing out numbers from 0-9. I know, on many internets, some of us prefer to use 1 instead of typing out one.

Who's with me in using journalistic standards when it comes to numbers while typing? :D

1. Depends on what you are typing

I don't think it really matters on internet forums like this. But for important stuff, yes, I use that rule.

2. Depends on which of the internets you're using

I type #s differently on different ones

I think the rules are you write it out when you are talking about a number but use the number when refering to time. But I could be wrong. I learned this when I was 13.

4. As far as journalism goes

You always use the numeral when it's a measurement (including time) but otherwise you write the number out between one and nine and use numerals from 10 on.

I even do this when using instant messengers. I have a condition :(

7. When you've done it for a while

it just feels natural, I suppose.

9. I'm in college and have

taken all of my writing courses and my professors taught me to print/type out the numbers one through 100 and then 100 up type/write out like mathmatically. :shrug: So that's what I do majority of the time. Sometimes if I'm in a hurry or something I don't.

5. I always write the word, when not referring to dates, measurements...

times, or mathematical calculations, for numbers under 10.

8. On the internet, I don't give a shit.

But if I am writing a professional paper or something for grad school, yeah I write it out.
