How many here had an 'older father'?

My Daddy was 46 when I was born.

1. My dad was 41.

He was 47 when my brother was born.

He was 60 when I graduated from high school.

He'll be 65 when my brother graduates.

2. my dad got older every year

and then he went and died :-(
He also shrank after he reached his 70's.

My mom was 35 and I am 55 NOW..that was very unusal back then.

Which back then was considered fairly old. My mother was 38.

8. My father was 40 and I found out very late that he had been

widowered (?) in his 20's!! All through my childhood I couldn't figure out who these people were that we kept visiting in Providence, RI. Turns out they were my father's first wife's family.....I was the first, then there was my brother 2 1/2 years later, so he was about 43 by then.

9. Mine was 41. I was the last of 5 kids.

10. Father-in-law was 52

when my husband was born. People always thought his Dad was his Grandpa. At our wedding, my father-in-law had a great time visiting with my grandparents, since they were all close in age. On the up side, my husband had his father around quite a bit as he retired while my husband was in middle-school. On the down side, though my father-in-law lived to be 83, he didn't have much time with our two children. They would have benefited greatly from knowing him better.

12. My dad was 40

He died at 60 (I was 20)(I still miss him).

My mother was 34 when I was born and will be 92 in March (and I'll be 58 in June, 2 years away from the age my dad was when he died .)

13. I was 10 when my Daddy died.

I know what you mean about still missing him.

14. My friend's dad was in his sixties - fought in WW I

He was gassed at Ypres, and died in his seventies of lung problems.

His father was also older - fought in the Civil War. So my friend, who is only just now only pushing 50 himself had a grandfather who fought in the Civil War.
