12. I figure that if you were so bad your parents didn't want another child...
... you don't deserve to be recognized.

That and for some reason when I made the poll it didn't accept the zero option. Now it's too late.

14. Or, their first try turned out so fab...
they didn't see the need for a drawn out "trial and error" birthing policy :)

36. Dad said they threw away the mold after me...
but "mold" can mean a couple of things so I am never sure! I think it made me more independent and self sufficient...never have a problem entertaining myself or eating dinner alone in restaurants. But it would have been nice to share my growing up years with some siblings. And at age 58, it would be nice to share some of the heartbreak and responsibility of aging parents. Who knows.

29. If I might ask...
how many of you are gay? I have a dear friend who is one of 12 in an Irish Catholic family, and he and two of his brothers are gay. Just curious what the ratio is in yours.

my mom had her tubes tied after me :) It's probably what saved her life for a while anyway... she had multiple sclerosis, which can be exacerbated by having more children.

Dr. DemoTex (my wife) is the oldest of 5. She has 4 bros. My dad had 9 siblings and my mother 8. We are childless and love our solitude. Wonder why?

37. One brother.
He has multiple disabilities (stemming from a seizure disorder), so I had a weird childhood. I didn't have anyone to fight with or play with, but most definitely (in a big way) had to share my parents. He has almost died a number of times and the cause was likely shaken baby syndrome when he was a year old (he was normal kid the first year of life) by a babysitter. It just didn't have a name, nor awareness/evidence in 1975.

Probably why I always told myself I'd have at least three children as a kid. Thankfully, mine are all very healthy.
