I'll admit, I'm the first person to not go through her credit card purchases with a fine-tooth comb - but this month I did and I found a doozy of a problem.
Back in July I used Fandango to purchase some tickets for Fahrenheit 9/11. The movie had just come out and we wanted to get tickets to go see it without risking the movie selling out. No big deal - I'l try Fandango.
I pay for my tickets and in the purchase was an area about joining their frequent buyer program. I took a quick glance and found that for more tickets that you purchase you could earn free tickets. I figured why not - if I like Fandango enough I'd be happy to take advantage of their program. So I check off the service, not realizing that in the fine print of the purchase was a notice of a $9/month fee to use this service. Plus I never used Fandango again after the F9/11 purchase because they charged a service fee of $1 per ticket. I didn't mind for this one movie - but figured I'll just buy them at the theater when I need them.
Personally, I think this service is a giant size ripoff and wanted to let folks know about it. I was able to cancel my account and got a refund on my money.
