so is cracking your own back a bad thing?
Agh! Someone in my family was having some back discomfort last night and "cracked" her own back by rolling up high on her shoulders and having someone else hold her legs to "crack" her back. She thinks this is an accepted kind of practice. I told her she's nuts.

Today, she can't move and is in a lot of pain and is going to the chiropractor. Cause and effect, says I.

Any DU-ers do this kind of thing?

1. i hold onto the back of a chair while sitting down and then i move from
side to side, it works for me and i haven't had pain afterward.

2. i think if you crack your back extensively, you run the risk of doing
something. if it's tight, and is going to crack whether you move or not, it's a different story. but it's not good to do it to yourself too much.

3. Didn't George Jefferson's neighbor do that a lot?
Did'nt he ask people to walk on his back? Is that an accepted practice?

4. i think walking on it is different than actively twisting it.
walking (although it depends on the weight of the person) is more of a massage. it can hurt you, but it's not really enough.
