Accused Nude Anna Kournikova Stalker Pleads Not Guilty

MIAMI -- A man accused of stalking tennis star Anna Kournikova has pleaded not guilty in a Florida courtroom to battery and other charges.

William Lepeska could face 30 years in state prison if convicted of felony charges that include resisting arrest and battery involving police officers. He also faces misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure and stalking.

The suspect is accused of swimming nude across Biscayne Bay, bound for Kournikova's $5 million estate. He was arrested after turning up naked at the wrong house on a neighbor's pool patio and yelling, "Anna! Save me!"

Police say Lepeska spent several months looking for her address on the Internet and swam nude 200 yards across Biscayne Bay after finding it.

Miami Beach Detective Daniel Morgalo said Lepeska told them he's is in love with Kournikova and is desperate to meet her. Lepeska even has an "Anna" tattoo on his right biceps.

He was charged with stalking, burglary and exposing himself to a 3-year-old child. A spokeswoman said the incident has left Kournikova to fear for her safety.

He has been jailed in a psychiatric unit on a $250,000 bond.

A restraining order has been issued against Lepeska.
