6. How about this.

My finch eggs are hatching. They are supposed to hatch one day at a time, but two hatched today!!! I now have three new baby finches, and more on the way!

I wish I was there. I found a finch hurt in a thunderstorm and nursed him back to health (almost lost my job because I had to go home every twenty minutes and check on him).

I have a few species of finches. I have zebras, a black-hooded nun, and a spice finch. Here are a few in their aviary.

19. We used to have zebra finches. One flew in the door to our

apartment, it was almost all white. It was lonely, so we got it a friend.

Then we got eggs. They didn't hatch. More eggs.

The second batch hatched. And a few days later the male died.

The poor little fledglings never learned how to make a zebra finch call.

We gave them back to the pet store. (And a few weeks later a lizard ran in. We lived in LA, if a pet escapes, it doesn't die.)

23. Finches are fun!

I love our finches. I have a breeding log (we have had several babies). The last two fledglings died though. :( It was very sad. I "bury" our birds in trees that way they can "fly" off.
