A great teacher and all around wild man has died
I doubt any, or maybe a few, of you will know of Bill Potts, but he was a teacher and bandleader of mine back in my late teens and early twenties. He introduced me to Bill "Count" Basie and Maynard Ferguson. He was the first really older person that I got high with. He took insanely poor care of himself, I am shocked he made it to 76 years old. He taught me how to record on an Ampex 8-Track and how to use a mixing board. He was thunderous and he really liked pickles. The stories of Jazz legends that came from him have already been passed on to my own son, and hopefully on and on from there..........

1. I know him now , thanks
an interesting man, to say the least. He lives on in his music, and in you and your son. You're lucky to have known him. I see his sister lives in nearby, I'll keep a watch out for her
