I made an all time Red Sox team but left out Jimmy Foxx and Wade Boggs...
I made an all time Cubs team and forgot Bruce Sutter...
and I listed my favorite NHL players and FORGOT CHRIS CHELIOS. He is the finest player in the history of his nation and I forgot him.
So to make up for it I am listing the greatest players in the history of their respective nations.
USA Chelly
Canada Im cheating and doing a three way tie Number NinetyNine Number Nine Number four
Russia Sergei Federov (Russians worship Varlamov but he was a pro playing against amatuers and Ive seen Federov do astounding things. I was at a playoff game in LA where he played thirty minutes because of injuries to virtually every other capable Red Wing. At the All Star game I went to he won each skill competition he entered)
Finland My favorite European hockey country Jarri Kurri
Sweden Petr Forsberg
Czech Republic Im taking the Dominator over JAromir Jagr
Slovakia Petr Bondra
Germany Olaf Kolzig (Marco Strum rising)
Britain "Lord" Byron Dafoe
Northern Ireland Owen Nolan (Owen has no friends)
I can't remember the former Soviet nation that Ozilinsh and Archie Irbe are from but I take Sandis on that one..

4. Konstantinov over Federov |
|
in terms of pure talent and ability its Sergei no doubt, but he tends to be too streaky and chokes too much.

a point for sure (not the choking, I think he is the opposite, he only scores when he has to)
I guess Lidstrom could be close to Forsberg as well.

6. Lidstrom is hands down a better Defensemen |
|
but Forsberg is better all around. Both excellent players.
My beef with Federov is when others are struggling he doesn't step up all the time. His speed is incredible and he's very underrated on D
