just let me write the textbook chapter on how many religions and beliefs were wiped out by Christianity not to mention the millions killed or tortured by the so-called spread of Christianity throughout the world.
If they want to teach it, teach it all. Don't treat it like the Alamo, sure alot of men died defending it but their motives for being there were less than noble. Historians have fucked up Alamo lore more than any other chapter in American history, sure we all believe that John Wa..I mean Davy Crockett was swinging the ole musket and smacking Mexicans with his last dying breath.
Right-wing Christians have no problem ignoring the truth, they have no problem picking and choosing which bible verse to follow, and they have no problem excluding others from "their" heaven. Native American beliefs are a fascinating study that have all but wiped out by Christianity, likewise for some cultures in South America where missionaries from my town travel to give medical aid for the low low price of conversion. That's right folks, for the one time payment of your soul we'll cure your ills, set your bones, and teach you abstinence. If you act now we'll throw in a Bible but act now, operators are standing by.
Oh sure, right-wing Christians will allow gays or non-Christians in the political party, they'll even allow you into their press pool, what they won't allow is access into their heaven.
