Are there any California lawyers out there?

I have a question. If someone dies in California without a will and their only living relations is their mother, father & a brother what would happen with their estate?

2. I think that under the California Probate Code

the estate would go to the parents.

3. That is what we seem to be finding to be true.

Why do people get so greedy & selfish when someone dies?
In my family I have found it brings us together, unfortunately it does not seem to be that way with many people.
