Disco memories: good and bad, post 'em here
I'll start us off: I loved disco because I loved to dance. At one point in 1978, I was out dancing 4 nights a week. Ok, your turn.

2. Going to Chester Street, a gay dance club in Champaign, Illinois....
in the late 70's. Dancing with my friends to songs like "We Are Family"...passing a bottle of poppers around....and feeling such a...moment of community. It's very, very hard to explain now...not very many people do. But that time, the music...especially if you were gay and just coming out...it WAS magical.

3. I loved the satin running shorts, tube tops and striped toe socks. the
gauchos and ponchos too.

But mostly I remember making my dad lift me up and spin me around just like on "Dance Fever". I must have been 7 or 8. Maybe 9?

4. I was an Alice Cooper / Kiss / Black Sabbath fan growing up
and one year for Christmas, a relative gave me the soundtrack to "Can't Stop The Music", the Village People movie. I was horified, listened to it once, and tossed it.
