The Sox lost but on the upside!
The Canucks won their home opener. 4-1! King got his first NHL goal in his First NHL game. Cool really, this kid barely made junior, was told he wouldn't go further than the AHL now he scored a goal in his first NHL game...good show young Newfie...good show!

If you don't care about Canucks hockey...I don't care..get used to these posts.

1. ooh an underdog
who is this King person? Like most sports, I kinda, sorta try to have some vague sense of what's happening. I live in CO, and know avid Avalanche fans, so it's good to be able to offer up at least a sentence or two of conversation.

Truthfully,I didn't even remember we had aquired him. He was playing whit Halifax... and said he was just happy to have "a job" but he got 20 goals for them last year and made a strong presence tonight...I like to Newfies do well to, I'm sure his whole family in COrnerbrook was up till three watching...I hope so anyway, don't wanna mis your kids first NHL goal do ya?

3. I just wish...
...they'd televise Canucks games across the border here in Seattle, or at least carry them on radio. We seem to be at least a few years away from getting an NHL franchise ourselves, and being able to watch what is de facto our "local" team would do a lot to stir interest in moving up to the big leagues, IMHO.
