He is a great author, one of the best. I have read maybe 7 of his books, the first one in part in 3rd grade...

5. Les Miserables....don't remember how long that was...
For some reason when I was in high school I found it fascinating...not sure if my English teacher believed I read all those pages, but she passed me all the same.

:)

7. It was THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV.
Can't remember the exact length, but it was definitely over 900 pages. And not a sentence was wasted!

I've also read HARRY POTTER & THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, which may be longer.

9. "The Tommyknockers" by Stephen King
At 749 pages, that's the longest book I've ever read. It's actually my least favorite of all the books I've read by him, but I couldn't stop reading it anyway. It was very weirdly written yet still quite interesting.

Close runners-up are I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe and Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi. I'm not sure which is longer, but they're pretty similar lengths.

12. The collected works of Sherlock Holmes?

I don't remember how many pages it was, but I read it when I was a kid and it seemed huge.

I know I've read a few books that were over 1,000 pages, but I'm too sleepy to think of titles.

13. Bunches and bunches. Far more than I care to remember.
If you like the book it really doesn't matter, now does it?

And if you didn't like the book, it was probably for school, and does that really count?

14. I believe "IT" and "The Stand" by Stephen King are over 1100.
And Tommyknockers and Needful Things are as well. Read all of those. Trilogies like LOTR and Dragonlance are also well over 1000.

16. don't remember the count, but Backlash was pretty fucking big!
I lent it out and never saw it again. Pretty much cemented my feminist leanings at 17...

LOVED that book, and I fell in love with Ann Richards forever more too!
