Poll question: Tradition?
Edited on Thu Feb-24-05 09:23 PM by Sympleesmshn
Did you follow the Traditions set at your High School? We have dances where girls ask guys, other stuff like that, and it is not cool to break tradition. I want to ask a girl to that dance and I am getting a hard time for it. What should I do? I mean it is tradition...

12. You could ask her if she's asked anyone.
Or chuck tradition and go fer it. You only live once.

13. well I know she hasn't,,,
The guys she took to the last dance is dating someone else and the guy before that withdrew from the school... some of my friends think she might ask me. I have to decide if I want to ask her or see how it plays out without any action on my part...

20. It is strange, because it only involves her and dances...

I was with her at Model UN conference dance in a big group and couldn't work up the nerve to ask her to dance... I don't know what it is... We are kinda distant friends, but we hung out at that conference, had lunch took a campus tour and I helped her with some policy work...

I have missed out twice with this girl, by asking too late to homecoming after she had already been asked. I am afraid I may get a real no this time....

15. Traditions are made to be broken
Okay, not always; but when it comes to high school, in most cases. Actually that may just be 'cause I disliked most of the kids I went to high school with and enjoyed pissing them off. :-)

16. Yes, do it
You'll find in life that many times what is being dictated to you and what you want/is best for you are two different things.

Good luck, Romeo! :-)

18. Fuck tradition. All traditions started by someone breaking a rule
and doing something new.

I can't begin to tell you how much I hate the straighjacket of "tradition".

That's usually an excuse for "don't be creative - don't rock the boat - don't think - don't change things."

21. Thats how this dance started...(traditionally)
An very unpopular girl (Sadie Hawkins) asked a popular guy to a dance... Since this was in the South, the guy said yes, thus the Sadie Hawkins dance started... No guy can turn down a girl unless they already have a date.
