1. I love Swannie, and weel remember the days of the dynasty!
But as much as I loved the trio of Bradshaw, Swann & Stallworth, I don't want to see any of them in politics!

I don't live in Pa anymore, so I couldn't vote for or against him if he ran, but I subscribe to Field Pass just so I can sstill hear good old Myron Cope asn listen to the Steelers on live radio!

2. Legendary receiver, not so legendary politically.
I met Swannie in a local bakery. He seems like a very nice guy, but I'm not too hot on his politics. At least Franco's a democrat.

3. proof that the GOP doesn't have any one that wants to be governor
The GOP governor Ridge and the still dominant GOP assembly really screwed pennylvania but none of their heavy hitters in the state want to run...and none really have the state wide recognition that Rendell has. So they run a football player who they hope will break up the inner city vote of Philly and Pittsburgh....but they hope that all the racists in the state (and there are a lot) will ignore their bigotry because Swann played for the Steelers....

Franco at least has been involved in public welfare issues and politics...

4. I love the Steelers, and I think Lynn Swann was a fantastic receiver.
He was very enjoyable to watch in his heyday.

His heyday is OVER. He has no qualifications to be the governor of PA. I don't respect his candidacy, and I don't believe the people of PA will vote for him just because he was a football player!

Rendell is popular and has done a good job. He's the man!

5. ....if Largent can be a congressman....
I dunno about Swann, but if Hines Ward ever decides to run for governor, I don't think there'll be any kind of race. He'll win hands down. HE DA MAN!
