don't realize when someone's answering machine has picked up, had a short message and then goes to recording. Dumbasses.

5. My Message Is Very Plain. It's My Own Voice, But Almost Generic...

... in content and purpose.

"Hello. You have reached 301-xxx-xxxx. Nobody is available to take your call. Please leave a message."

No names. No excuses. Nothing cute... boring! And definitely NOT SEXY.

I don't even bother to say "wait until after the beep". If they don't know when to begin speaking, then they are too dumb for me to even bother calling back.

And yes, even if you have signed up for the 'No Call List', which we did right when it was available, you'll still get calls from these nimrods. I think it's illegal for them to leave a message, in other words use anything that you own.

We screen our calls most of the time- Our message is:

"Alright- here's the deal. You have to leave a message.... or I'm not going to pick up the phone... and uh.... that's just how it is."

Imagine that with a stoner guys voice.

Works for us, the only hang ups we ever got was from telemarketers- until we added our number to the do not call list.

Funny thing, the *only* company that still calls us is SBC- several times a week! And we aren't their customers!

I used to hate hate hate leaving messages for people, but I always tried to hang up before the machine picked up. :shrug:

I just assumed they were bitches who thought they were too *all-that* to talk to my machine. I have no time to waste my pretty on prima donnas like that so I don't call them back.
