Never write out a check in pencil.
Somebody erased what I had put in, and put in a new dollar amount.
Now I have over 50 bucks less in my account than I thought.

1. I am sorry that happened to you . |
|
 One of my teachers in the 6th grade told us the proper ways to write a check . One of them being never write one out in Pencil and to write the dollar amount as tightly spaced as possible so that no one else would be able to change the dollar amount .

2. Jell pen is the best because |
|
it can't be 'washed' off the check. Sorry to hear about your check. Be sure to never leave any spaces between the writing. :kick:

3. Can you confront who did it ? |
|
Was it a business or a person ? Have you seen the check after it was modified ? Seems to me that your bank should be able to take are of it, provided there is ample evidence that it was modified by the depositee.
