I'm pretty absent-minded. The last time I lit a candle I nearly burned my table down.

2. That's half the fun of lighting candles |
|
Will I burn the place down or won't I?

I was at work a few hours ago...so i feel your pain. Tell them that you need to get home and light some candles.

9. I was wondering what I see from up here |
|
I thought I was looking at a Dead concert (dude) from up here in my "craft", but it must be your house.

It's still light here. But I have candles burning every night - there are six in my living room. I also burn incense regularly - I love the soft light that candles emit and the incense is very calming. Hubby and I buy both by the gross!

I am running out though, I only have a few dozen left. My incense comes from the Dharma shop www.dharmashop.com/ They have a great selection and good prices.

Hubby used to get it from a local Buddhist temple but they either moved or stopped selling it - I forget which.

After a fire destroyed my family's home in 1999, I refuse to light any candles ... If I cant sit and watch it the whole time it is lit, then it wont be lit ....
Im never going through that again ...

Probable electrical short in the walls ....
Nevertheless: Candles are extremely problematic: they can be unstable and topple .. they can be pushed over by pets or kids ... Open flame in the house of any kind is just too much for me to tolerate, unless the flame is fully contained or under constant and direct supervision ... All it takes is one mistake ...
Having that smell of smoke around you for weeks changes you forever .... I still have personal items in boxes that I tried to preserve; and I still get sick to my stomach to catch that scent again ...

I lost a few friends in a fire years ago. Some of the family didn't get out. So sad. I understand.

Open a candle shop. Then you can make money and meet someone to love AND have candles. See..I'm always thinking.

I'd have candles any how. It's not meeting someone to love, it's the loving back part they refuse to do...Unfortunately.
Great idea though. It's something I hadn't thought of until you mentioned it. Hmm...

I have an old rickety purple three wick lit in the middle of the kitchen table.
Insence in a flower pot...
I like it all.
