I'm glad the week is over

The kids survived TAKS round one, despite the test anxiety that was eating my third grader alive.

I called about the school nurse who dictates "sick enough to go home" by how many days the kid has missed. The Assistant Principal told me that they are not required to send them home until they break 100. She didn't believe that the nurse said "You've missed 12 days of school, you need to stay here." I told her that my child had no idea how many days he's missed, and he doesn't make this shit up. The nurse will get a talking to.

My daughter was busted today for writing on the bathroom walls. She didn't write anything obscene...just (Name of some other girl) loves (some boy). The teachers made all of the girls write this, and hers matched, which compelled a confession. Lunch and recess detention for her on Monday.

I also discovered that she has branched out, and has been signing my initials to her assignment sheet all week. I thought they weren't being sent home since there was no homework due to TAKS this week.

New temp at work...She's a DEM!!!! I found this out by telling her not to talk politics with (the resident freeper). She asked me if he was a shrub lover or hater...I said lover...She said "So, I shouldn't wear my FUCK (shrub) shirt around him?" If you're out there :hi:

Got my tax return, which was a substantial amount of money...Thanks to fuckernut, it was gone in no time.

But, the very next day, I got a really good phone call.
