My neighbors are having a party...
and smoking up a chimney. We are the only two apartments in the basement and the smoke is drifting over the hallway and into my apartment. Now everything in here reeks like smoke!!!!

:(

2. Bummer.
Are you on good terms with them? Is it possible to ask them to stop? Just wanted to say I felt your pain.

5. I am on good terms with them, but I feel bad because this has happened
before and we haven't ever said anything. It's just tonight I am sick and pretty exhausted...the smell of cigarrettes wafting into my apartment isn't helping.

Also, I don't want them to think I am a bitch. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with that, but with them it is different. We are of similar ages and I really don't want to embarrass them or act like an old coot in front of their friends.

6. Yeah
I'm a wimp sometimes about things like that, too. I'll bet they have no idea it's happening though. It's the kind of thing that you wouldn't think would happen if you were the one smoking in your own apartment. It might be worth mentioning to them sometime, even if you can't face it tonight.:)

4. Just tobacco...
I wouldn't mind the other smell as it doesn't tend to linger as long.

7. Will someone go tell them to stop smoking? That'd be great...
and on your way back bring me a shamrock shake from McDonalds.

8. Inconsiderate neighbors can be a huge pain in the butt.
Been there...and hope I never will be again.

9. I hear you...if one of them would come outside for a second..
I'd ask them to open a window...but I don't want to ask one of the "friends". Bastards...it sucks to be smelling someone else's secondhand smoke when you are in your own home and sick!
