wheresgeorge.com - Any DUers participate?
It's a wacky idea, but pretty cool. You find a dollar bill with a stamp on it inviting you to track its journey across America, log onto www.wheresgeorge.com, and enter the bill's serial number to see where it's been so far and how long it's been travelling. You can even leave your own note detailing where you found the bill and (if applicable) where you spent it.

I like quirky stuff like this...

2. Where's George, you say?
He's over there. (points) You can't miss him, he's that guy standing there with his head up his ass.

3. Got one on Wednesday
and meant to go to the site but forgot. Just did- the bill has only 2 entries-the original on Jan 15 and mine today. It hasn't gone very far- I'll spend it Sunday 80 miles away to give it a chance.

4. I got a "Where's George" bill in Las Vegas
at Christmas and added it to the site. Mine was only the second entry. I'm sure money flies out of people's hands so quickly they rarely pay attention to anything stamped on it, much less take the time to track it on the web. It's fun in theory but not terribly practical.

6. I think the record is 15 flags for a single bill

It was pretty neat - travelling through topless clubs, country stores, halfway across America and back. It's just interesting to see that process in action.

One small note: sometimes the stamp may be faded from either getting wet or from normal wear. That was the case with my dollar.

7. I've had 4 or 5 different bills get hits
I think I have about 30 or so bills listed there from a few years back. Six months ago was the last time I was notified one of my bills had been found.

Kind of a fun idea but unless some one is entering a butt-load of bills don't expect many of them to come up as found.
