Proposition: The inspiration for much of the sexual torture
that US troops have engaged in in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo was inspired by INTERNET porn. It happened in too many places at once and was too patterned to be original with each group.Flame away!

1. It wasn't the troops idea alone and it wasn't just porn
It is a long standing human condition of debased activity against subjugated "enemies" in this case on orders from the highest belfries of our psychotic Administration.

2. Right.
Thanks for fielding that one. You're absolutely dead-on target with your response. It's nothing to do with porn. It's to do with abasing others.

3. I agree that the orders came from the top
but where did the notion of forcing prisoners to simulate sexual acts come from? It was so stereotypical ( even the Brits did the same thing) that it seem to me to have had a common inspiration. What about all the picture taking? The business with the dog leashes also seems to come straight out of sadomasochistic porn fantasy. I don't buy the notion that somehow Moslem men are more humiliated by this activity and that the troops knew it.

4. By the way, I think censorship of porn is more harmful and
dangerous than porn itself. I believe the same thing about drug laws. I'm just questioning the notion that porn is a harmless pastime.

5. Yes it is too much of a coincidence,
That the "torture protocol" was exactly the same in Afghanistan, Abu Ghraib and Gitmo. These soldiers are mostly very young uneducated kids who are just going to do what they're told. It definitely came from the top.

6. Don't know about psy-ops?
The troops may not have known before hand that Muslim men would be more humiliated by it, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the higher-ups who ordered this would make sure that everyone working in those prisons would get the memo about it. "Sexual deviance is a very effective method of torture in regards to Muslim prisoners".

I mean, what seems more logical here: the higher-ups made known exactly (well roughly exactly) what be very effective psychological torture, or all the soldiers involved had secret S&M fetishes and acted upon them? The higher-ups might not have ordered exactly what sort of sexual torture, and these aren't boy scouts out there in the field (I'm not absolving the soldiers of any guilt, the following orders deal doesn't fly over here), chances are they thought "huh, according to memo44d67-1/a sex is humiliating to these guys, well I've seen a thing or two"...

8. Wait a minute, you're saying that the same higher-ups
who think that these prisoners have something to tell us know enough about Moslem cultures to know exactly what will make them talk?

9. No that's not what I'm saying at all...
The same higher-ups undoubtedly are not stupid, and did some research into things that are abhorrent to Muslim culture. That's just common sense. So they might not know exactly, but they know some things that might be very psychologically damaging to Muslims.
The higher-ups may be lacking in morals, but they are intelligent people who know how to do research, or get research done for them.

10. You've been surfing some wack-ass porn.
I generally prefer porn that doesn't have all those hoods and shit. That's for the perverts.
