There seem to be different breeds of "I'm leaving" threads:

1) the Insecure Baby - "Please notice me! Tell me you love me! Beg me to stay! Or I'm taking my blocks and going home!"

2) the Freep - "I'm leaving DU, because you libruls suck. I trolled for three months. Fooled you! Even though you don't give a shit." :)

3) the Tombstone - "I'm an obnoxious prick and am about to be banned anyway, so I might as well break up with DU first."

4) the Martyr - "I can't believe no one is joining my cult of {insert belief here}. Won't you people please think of the {cause}!"

5) the Attention Seeker - "I'm leaving DU, because I need to pee. Aren't you glad you clicked on this thread." :)

6) the Complete Idiot - "I'm a liberal, but I believe in corporate welfare, OUR president, and discrimination against all races and ethnicities. Why are you people so mean?"

7) the Broad brush - "See this thread on page 12578994215767 of the archives! DUers are all hypocrites!"

8) the Control Freak - "You people aren't doing what I want! You offend my sensibilities and I expect all of you to give in to my demands or I'll ... judge you!" :P
