What would your profession have been in medieval times?
Ok, this is kind of a fun quiz:

http://www.kingdomality.com/

Here's me:
Your distinct personality, The Discoverer, might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. Your overriding goal is to go where no one else has ever gone before. Regardless of the number of available natural problems to be solved, it is not unusual for you to continually challenge yourself with new situations or obstacles that you have created. You are an insatiable explorer of people, places, things and ideas. You thrive on constant change and anything new or different. On the positive side, you can be creatively rational as well as open minded and just. On the negative side, you might be an impractical and indecisive procrastinator. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

Damn, they're spot-on! Even about the procratination bit!

2. The Prime Minister
Your distinct personality, the Prime Minister might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. You are a strategist who pursues the most efficient and logical path toward the realization of the goal that you perceive or visualize. You will often only associate with those people who can assist you in the implementation of your plan. Inept assistants may be immediately discarded as excess baggage. To do otherwise could be seen as inefficient and illogical. On the positive side, you can be rationally idealistic and analytically ideological. You can be a bold decision maker and risk taker who can move society ahead by years instead of minutes. On the negative side, you may be unmerciful, impatient, impetuous and impulsive. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

Actually, that fits me very well - inefficiency drives me batty and I'd rather do something myself than see it done badly by someone else. Cool.

On the "Star Trek" quiz that someone recently posted, i came up as a Vulcan - at least I'm consistent.

Your distinct personality, the Benevolent Ruler, might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. You are the idealistic social dreamer. Your overriding goal is to solve the people problems of your world. You are a social reformer who wants everyoneto be happy in a world that you can visualize. You are exceptionally perceptive about the woes and needs of humankind. You often have the understanding and skill to readily conceive and implement the solutions to your perceptions. On the positive side, you are creatively persuasive, charismatic and ideologically concerned. On the negative side, you may be unrealistically sentimental, scattered and impulsive, as well as deviously manipulative. Spot on! But I'd rather be the Benevolent Ruler's chief torturer and executioner. Ah well, we all have our dreams.

12. It's not really very funny at all....
When I was a really little kid my parents let me order models of torture equipment out of the back of Vampirella comix. I had a whipping post, a gibbet, a guillotine, even a little brazier with burning hot pokers. My mom helped me build a dungeon out of a cardboard box. It had, strangely, green and white striped wallpaper and badly constructed attempts at bay windows.

Ah, the simple innocent joys of childhood!

18. I amazed
that there are toys like that, and equally amazed that parents would allow them. My mother disagreed with Playmobil, probably one of the most liberal toy makers in the world, because one of their little figures was a policeman with riot gear.

25. There were but not anymore
They were actually, I think, meant for the adult horror hobbyist crowd. Vampirella wasn't exactly for kids. But my parents basically from day one let me read what I wanted and express my creativity in whatever way it lead.

I wish I still had those toys. I tried to track 'em down and see if they were being traded on the collector's market. They are, but at prices that stagger the imagination.

So I started building my own from scratch. Right now I'm working on making tiny little knives and bone saws and metallic hooks. Sounds sick, huh? But I detest torture, I'm anti war, a pacifist, a feminist and about as liberal as you can get. I won't even kill insects I find in my house.

Go figure, huh?

Khash.

And my parents let me read whatever I wanted, even very violent and adult comics; they just didn't allow toys that encouraged certain views of the world.

I think it's natural for pacifists and liberals to be fascinated by the manner and instruments of what they hate; and having a hobby is a good thing!

Cher

p.s. when I was a little kid and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would say, "Queen." But I hastily added that I would be a good Queen, not a Wicked Queen.

I even had a Queen doll who had the honored place on my bureau. The bureau was way taller than I and I'd look waaaaaaay up at it and say, "Yep, that's me."

5. "The Scientist".
Your distinct personality, The Scientist, subscribes completely to the scientific method. The data create the conclusion. To think about accumulating new data to prove an hypothesis could almost be considered a gross waste of time as there are so many new conclusions to be derived from the data already available. A more modern scientist in the field of criminology would be Sherlock Holmes. This professional sleuth always draws his conclusions from the available clues. On the positive side, you can be rationally imaginative and realistically perceptive. On the negative side, you can be nearsighted, narrow minded and rigid in your research methods. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

Very accurate...except that I am a girl.

Your distinct personality, The White Knight, might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. Don Quixote was a White Knight as was Joan of Arc, the Lone Ranger and Crusader Rabbit. As a White Knight you expect nothing in return for your good deeds. You are one of the true "Givers" of the world. You are the anonymous philanthropist who shares your wealth, your time and your life with others. To give, is its own reward and as a White Knight you seek no other. On the positive side you are merciful, sympathetic, helpful, giving and heroic. On the negative side you may be impulsively decisive, sentimental and misdirected. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

As it relates to my career, it's true. I'm the one who has to explain to the boss why some great idea isn't exactly legal, and maybe we should re-think. Well, it comes out like that, but what I really mean is... "you can't screw people like that! It's just wrong!"

24. The Black Knight here
Your distinct personality, The Black Knight, might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. Your overriding goal is to win. You approach each task or situation as a contest to be won strategically and efficiently. Because you can control your feelings, it is not unusual for you to charm, as well as successfully delegate tasks and responsibilities to the more emotional types. You are often concerned with what's in it for you. You seldom involve yourself in activities where you can not foresee a reward for your investment or effort. On the positive side, you can be analytically empathic and logically persuasive. On the negative side, you may be unemotionally manipulative as well as impulsive. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

So I guess my sig line should be "None Shall Pass" from now on? (Damn, and I so hate losing multiple limbs to swords.)

While modern legend has Black Knights as being evil, a Knight usually painted his armor black to save money (cheaper to blacken it than to polish it), and it was usually a sign of a Knight seeking employment... a 'Black Knight' was a mercenary looking for work.

54. Dreamer-Minstrel
Your distinct personality, The Dreamer-Minstrel might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. You can always see the "Silver Lining" to every dark and dreary cloud. Look at the bright side is your motto and understanding why everything happens for the best is your goal. You are the positive optimist of the world who provides the hope for all humankind. There is nothing so terrible that you can not find some good within it. On the positive side, you are spontaneous, charismatic, idealistic and empathic. On the negative side, you may be a sentimental dreamer who is emotionally impractical. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.
