Explain PIZZA delivery "insurance" to me...(please)
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 03:28 PM by leftyandproud
ok, I ordered a $10.00 pizza from Pizza Hut and an order of breadsticks.
The total came to $14.80 so I assumed I had gotten the large breadsticks I asked for.

When it got here however I had the small 5 piece breadstick ($2.99) and told the delivery guy I had been ripped off on price. He said no, I was only charged for a small breadstick, but they charge extra for now for "delivery insurance". Anyway, I had $17 ready to hand him (tip of $2.20 on what I thought was the correct $14.80).

I gave it to him and said thanks. My question is...what the hell is this the "insurance" that they charge now?

And why the hell did I just give the pizza boy (who works 1 mile away) a $4.00 tip on a $13.00 order?

Grrr..

1. Didn't they give you the itemized when you placed the order?
I know that they charge 75 cents for delivery here.

2. Sounds like a ripoff to me...
I stick to Papa Johns or Pudge Brothers...Stopped buying Pizza Hut long ago 'cuz I think they suck :)

That sounds like ticketmaster's "service and handling fees"...Gimme a break!
