95 Jeep Cherokee 4x4
95 Jeep Wrangler 4x4

both bought used...

the cherokee has lived in OH KY TX and now CA, and has been a godsend when moving and if we hit any snow. I cringe about the gas mileage, but she has been very good to us for 164,000 miles.

The Wrangler is an occasional car, we don't drive it much in the winter, but take the top off in spring and summer for short trips. I love her best when she is naked, no doors and no top. 112,000 miles

My dream car is a hybrid, but my dh doesn't feel comfortable with the long term unknowns YET, and we need lots of cargo room. Sigh.

Edit: oops! meant to post to the OP, sorry! But we are in the same boat...

Wife has her own car, due to long commutes

As you can see, I like powerful cars

47. I covered the spread by several hours!
Seriously. The over/under was you would beat me to the post by at least five hours, GOPisEvil, on a Saturday early evening. I'm never on DU at this hour, after daytime golf and all these dizzying basketball games to wager on. I came home to check out this BTK killer stuff after hearing he was caught.

Mine is a crimson pearl '95 G20, running great despite a local cutup who does fun things like keying it, putting on weird stickers and placing chicken bones atop my sunroof. I love the size, shape and everything about it, except it's been discontinued and my next car will undoubtedly be something more modern with a high ass and other stuff I don't prefer.

48. I've thought about upgrading to a later model, say a 1999 or 2000...
...the G35 is nice, but it's got an engine that requires premium gas. Infiniti needs to make another small car based on the Sentra.

You played golf today? Dammit. It was in the 40s and raining here. Maybe I can get in a round next week.

51. I don't like the second generation G20s nearly as much
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 09:19 PM by Awsi Dooger
It was based on an English model, I think, something called the Primera. Consumer Reports and other respected evaluators didn't rate it nearly as highly as the model we have. If you've "only" got 104,000 and a big chunk of them are highway miles, no need to abandon for quite a while.

Thanks for telling me about the premium requirement of the G35. I didn't know that. I've warmed up to its looks somewhat, especially in certain colors.

Yeah, it sickens me Infiniti doesn't have a basic small "family" car anymore. I really don't want to go outside the Nissan/Infiniti line.

Hey, I did some research on my G and it celebrates its 10th birthday this week, on March 3. It has Midwestern routes, from a dealer in Illinois but delivered with 20 miles on it to a travel agency in a small town outside Gary, Indiana on March 3, 1995. That's appropriate, since my first name is Gary. No idea how the G20 made it to Homestead, Florida, where I purchased it.

Yeah, I got in a soggy round of golf here today. Just tried to get my old right-to-left ball flight again. I read your post about too quick on the downswing, no pause. That's me also. I've finally gotten by backswing to start slower and not open the clubface so soon, but once I get past waist level the rest of my swing takes maybe 3/10 of a second.

57. I don't like it as much either, but I still think it's attractive.
If you get the "t" package, it's supposedly better.

I took mine in for dealer service a couple years ago and was given a G35 as a loaner over the weekend. Damn, it's quick, but I didn't find that it had that "corners on rails" feeling that ours has (especially since I put new struts all around!). I think my car was built in February 1994 and was delivered to Gunn Infiniti in San Antonio where my parents bought it new. I still have the original window sticker.

If I get a new car, it might be the Nissan Sentra SE-R, Spec V. It looks like a hot little car.

If only my golf game was as dependable as my car...
