What's for dinner?
Haven't seen one of these threads for a while, so here goes. I'm having a nice, thick, juicy London broil steak with grilled potatoes and home-grown green beans straight from Grandma's garden. :D

His dad's a chef, so not only did he grow up thinking that men cooking was perfectly normal, he also learned to do it well.

24. Nice
I cook Italian all the time, but I don't know what the hell I'm having tonight because I'm sick with a bad cold: no tastebuds, no motivation.

I bought a dozen cherry stone clams last week for linguini and clam sauce. they were so huge that I only needed half a dozen. (Authentic recipe below)

I used the other six the following night for linguini and red clam sauce. Even better. Lots of crushed red in that one.

Linguini and white clam sauce:

Half a dozen raw clams unopened
five cloves garlic
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
plenty of fresh grated parm (not pre grated)

pound linguini.

Open clams over bowl to get all juice. Put in blender for five seconds or so to chop.

Saute garlic in oil for about a minute and a half, add clams and parsley, bring to boil then reduce heat and simmer for about 3 minutes until clams are cooked.
Toss in with cooked pasta and serve immediately with lots of parmesan.

Best cheap lenten meal ever.

30. having it right now. don't know what I want, but know I am getting
a headache because I need to eat.

usually I end up eating eggs or a grilled cheese when I get like this.

I am determined to not spend money eating out tonight because I did last night and more than likely will for lunch tomorrow.

gues I should go explore the refrigerator and pantry.

36. I'm glad you asked!
Tonight I was looking for something to make for dinner and discovered Recipes on Demopedia here at DU!!! I made Tamale Pie from a recipe I found there, and it was wonderful!!! Hubby absolutely loved it, and I did too, so I'm sure it will be a repeat offering in the future. Hubby is even going to clean up the kitchen; life is good.... Recipes at DU, and a clean kitchen (thanks to Dear Hubby!)
