Charles: 'I am being tortured by public over Camilla'
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/this_britain/story.jsp?story=615228

By Francis Elliott
27 February 2005

The Prince of Wales has lashed out at public mockery of his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles claiming he is being "tortured" in a hitherto unreported interview.

Gavin Hewitt, a BBC journalist, revealed details last night of an off-the-record interview in which the Prince says he is tired of being told what to do. According to Hewitt, the Prince bridled at suggestions that his relationship with Mrs Parker Bowles was a matter of public interest.

"All my life people have been telling me what to do. I'm tired of it. My private life has become an industry. People are making money out it," Mr Hewitt says he was told in today's Mail on Sunday.

Although conducted some time ago, the details of the officially sanctioned conversation reveal the depth of Prince Charles' bitterness at public opinion about his private life. "I thought the British people were supposed to be compassionate. I don't see much of it," he said.

5. There is too much attention paid
to the private lives of the royal family.

Of course, if he really hates it, he can always abdicate. But then he might have to go out and get a real job.

10. C & C Are a Real Love Story--but let's leave the two shallow lovers alone.
Maybe they just really, really love each other--he married the lovely but dingy Di under duress (virgin bride and all that crap--)and she wasn't exactly stable.

14. Doesn't seem so. Unstable family history, rather poorly educated,
then thrown to the wolves at a young age...I admired her but let's be honest: she was poorly prepared for the "job", but who wouldn't be?

15. I couldn't believe it when
I read an article about Charles "every day life". This is when there were rumours about some gay-thing.

Amazing but true: Charles has a servant stand next to him and squeeze out toothpaste onto his toothbrush. He changes clothes several times a day (don't want to get messy now, do we?) and he just throws the clothes on the floor.

Within seconds, there is a servant nearby who lunges forward and picks up his messes and hangs them up. I think he has a servant who serves him his meals, and even pulls toilet paper for him.

29. Absolutely pathetic. He needs another "servant"....
one to give him a good, swift crack upside the head at least 3 times a day.

Someone to pull toilet paper for him??? He should be tortured for real just for putting another human being through THAT pointless and humiliating task.

no matter what the "public" thinks. Poor baby. And Camilla will get to be HRH Camilla.

Honestly, the dude is in his 50s and he's whining about being in t he public eye. That's kind of what happens when you're going to be King someday.

Many of the posts here could be ripped right from Free Republic. I am amazed at the venom spewed here against these people. It's none of our business who Charlie and Di were boffing.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some here waving a stained dress.....pathetic.

Turnabout is fair play, Charles, but we're even. May you have springtime fresh days for the rest of your life, "Always"! May life bring you sweet honeyed nectar, not vinegar and water.

abdicated his future role in the monarchy...there's no way anyone can take him seriously after that. Dignity went out the window with that tampon tape.

35. What is wrong with the British people?
Why do they put up with twits like this?

Paris Hilton is vapid and stupid (and kinda hot), but I don't have to foot her bill.

Every American who has responded to this thread LISTEN UP: our nation fought a war so we could ignore these people. Please do.

And every Diana defender here: She was stupid, an adulterer and lived off the dole. She should have earned a respectable living, perhaps as a cafeteria worker or through pornography. She was no saint.

37. Nothing wrong with us,
that a revolution wouldn't put right.
Interestingly, I see more interest in the halfwit and his old tart here on DU than I do at home. People here are sick to death of this spoiled idiot and couldn't care less about this wedding - other than the interesting fact that's it's not legal and that Bliar and his cronies are doing their best to bend the law in order to let it happen.

Just for clarification - the whole bunch of them are stupid adulterers living off the dole.

who let his Daddy force him into marriage with a woman he didn't love and he made everyone's life miserable because of it. Camilla is a gutless wimp too if she had had any guts she would have told Charles the he could either marry her or shove off that she was not going to hang around and be his backstreet lover...those two deserve each other. :puke:
