American Chopper or American Hot Rod?

Poll question: American Chopper or American Hot Rod?

Personally, after watching a few episodes of American Hot Rod, I find it ~much~ more interesting than the Chopper variety. Hell, Mike C and his team rebuilt an entire car, including bodywork, upholstery, engine, tranny, frame, paint, and details in less time than the fastest American Chopper motorcyle.

3. Both are part of the reason the Discovery Channel now sucks.

You can't turn on that damn channel without watching a long block of American Chopper, American Hot Rod, Monster Garage, Monster House, Great American Biker Build-off, etc.

It sucks.

4. I agree that it seems that the Discovery Channel has been hijacked

by the Hells Angels (I have no idea where the plural apostrophe in that lays so I'm not going to bother) but it's still interesting watching some of these vehicles coming together.

I grant you that actual scientific shows, something that say Richard Attenborough or Bronoski are MUCH more interesting, but we get what we get, and ratings dictates content :shrug:

That being said, a full car from frames to completion is more interesting than the same old bike over and over again - with the mandatory yelling of "Silver-back Senior".

5. I could do without the yelling from Senior as well

but I still like seeing the bikes Paul Jr. builds... for some reason watching a motorcycle get built from the groundup never gets old. The American hotrod show on the other hand... ugh.. I'm bored immediately. Weird. I can't explain that actually. :shrug:

8. Well OCC is near me....

this whole thing started out as a documentary on how a m/c was built. It kinda evolved into these shows. The entire filming is canned on the premise of meeting a deadline. Discovery is making stuff thats is making them some bucks. If you really look close all of the shows have the same theme. I do know that OCC has grown leaps and bounds because they made a business decision to cash in on merchandising. They have been advertising for marketing help and copyright people. I enjoy them at first I did not but I do find it amusing. I'm into hot rods and I wish they would do more along those lines.
