Democrats have more tattoos. Who knew?
Every once in a while, to make sure that I'm right in my views of the world (I always am), I tune into the Rush Limbaugh show.

Today, he was making a correlation between the % of Republicans that have tattoos (14%) and the Democrats who have tattoos (18%).

It just makes me think of all the listeners out there who are scratching their head in deep thought going "Yeah, I think you're absolutely right! What a great observation, Rush!"

By the way, he left this as an open ended thought.... no closure there. This guy is a douche.

Go figure. Dems have more tats?

I have the likeness of the Tiger from Jerry's guitar on the lower left leg, where it can be hidden while in business attire.

2. Well, I suppose...
In all fairness I have several tattoos across the arms and chest. Most of which can be hidden by a short sleeve shirt. But serious, my tattoos are all rock n roll, baby. Must keep up the rock star appearance for the ladies. Kidding.

3. It's about committment...if you get a tatoo it is lifelong...a bumper
sticker can be scraped off...or traded in with last years poll numbers. It is about committment..and if more democrats have more tatoos, then it follows that they are more committed to whatever they have tattoed on their bodies...

Even Jesus changes with the tide...last decade he loved the poor this year he hates them cause they have no boot straps???

4. I have 8 tattoos...
I have been called every name in the book because of them...they are easily hidden by a t-shirt and the one on my leg is easily hidden with pants...one would never know I have them...

I like to hear people talk about tattoos and how disgusting they look and that anyone who has one is nothing but "white trash"...I listen to them...mostly righties but not all...say that people with tattoos are a disgrace.

You should see the look on their faces when I take my shirt off and roll up my pant leg and let them see my tats...they usually shutup real quick...they are actually shocked that someone who has tattoos can sit down with them and talk about issues...

Well...I might be a tattooed freak according to Rush...but I'm not a drug addict...!

7. Absolutely.
The looks on the faces are priceless! I've got the long hair to match. It's especially fun when you're having an argument. And you win.

on our twenty-fifth anniversary. We call them "body art". Wouldn't take it off for the world.

11. And what conclusion, precisely
does he draw from that percentage, which is a very minimal difference? It would be more instructive to ask what percentage of each has BAD tattoos (PRISON tattoos, to be precise!).

I have six tattoos, all very nicely done, very pretty, and each with a very special meaning to me. I am also a professional who dresses conservatively - the only tattoo that shows in business attire is a very discreet Celtic band on my left wrist (my husband has its twin on his left wrist), and even that can be covered with a watch.

I am baffled that people actually still try to draw conclusions about a person based on their body art. Now, tattooing your face is still pretty out there, but someday we may be more accepting even of that.

I don't know, maybe it's different on the coasts than it is in the heartland. Here in Seattle, it's damned hard to find someone between the ages of 18 and 40 without any body modifications. I think of it as just another way to decorate oneself, just like clothing or jewelry, except that, as it's permanent, the decorations need to be things meaningful enough to you that you'll want to keep them on your body for life. The reason the band on our wrists is where it is is because my husband and I wanted a visible, permanent sign of our commitment to one another (and I'm not a fan of tattooing names). We're also both Celts - I'm Irish, he's a Scot - and we wanted a tribute to our heritage. He can't wear a wedding ring because of the work he does, so this was a nice way to always have our "wedding rings" with us.

15. Hmmm, I got a tattoo before I bailed on the Rethugs.
It represents my personal battles and I've never been sorry I got it.

A rose with blood dripping off a thorn. It reminds me that life is a mixture of blooms and thorns. Sometimes I can celebrate the bloom. Other times the thorns hurt too badly.

And every time I've held a rose,
It seems I only felt the thorns.
And so it goes.
And so it goes.
And you're the only one who knows.

-Billy Joel
