1. I Had a '73 Dart Swinger Once
It was a good little car until the day my now ex-wife was driving it and a piston went right through the side of the block......

5. Couldn't kill it.
My sister's family had one. It just going and going (200K+ miles) until it rusted away to nothing. A car does need a floor.

7. World's weirdest car
My first car, but I had the Swinger model.

Once , I went to class. While I was in there, it rained a lot. I came out, and this bizarre yellow seaweed like plant was growing out of the black cardboard thingy under the back window.

It looked like it came from outer space. It freaked me out.

Also, the DDS had a plug under the hood that would fall out from time to time, and the car would not run until it was plugged in.

It also leaked like hell when it rained.

I do not miss that crappy car.

13. All Chrysler Products With Automatics Had Pushbuttons....
...from the Mid-'50s until 1964. They went back to more traditional shifters in 1965 because they were losing sales to driving schools - the schools didn't want to teach on cars with unorthodox shifters.

My folks had a '59 Plymouth Savoy with a two-speed Powerflite transmission. The buttons worked fine......

9. I Had Two Darts
at different times. The first was nicknamed "the Beast" because of its different-colored front quarterpanels. Was stolen in Brookly NY in the mid-1980's. Loved that car.

12. Absolute worst car I've ever owned
I put more money into that pos, something different every month, the electrical system gave me no end of problems. I used to have dreams of inserting a stick of dynomite into the gas tank and setting it off. I have never owned another chrysler product nor will I.

15. Sky Blue '72
The Car That Would Not Die.

Granted, it did smell like it was dead for six months after a milk container leaked into the back seat upholstery (in the summer! GACK!), but it just kept on going.

In the end, collapsing, rusting body panels and sagging rear springs, along with an EZ-Off left front wheel (bad bearing - oops!) gave me with no choice but to pitch the thing at 249,000 miles. But the guys I gave it to were careful to pull the engine and sell it before calling the junkman.

Graceless, boxy and reliable - I miss my Dart!
