1. I delivered DVDs to an academy member over Christmas when I worked at UPS.

He was very nice, use to be an animator for Disney and Warner Bros.

If you live in L.A., it's hard not to know a member of the Academy. There are loads of them! And they'll all get thanked tonight a million times. :-)

3. Same here--used to work at one of the movie studios--each studio

is allowed to enroll a certain number of their execs as members--one of the many reasons why small, independent fimlms are rarely honored.

I've worked as an animator at Disney, and a fair number of my coworkers are/ were members (I get a lot of films on tape because of it, too). ;-)
