Before I post the top three pictures, I want to thank all the photographers who submitted pictures to the contest. They are all winners, really.

Now before I post the official winners, Ihave to make a tally correction. Two people wrote in the posting thread that they accidently voted for "Grief" when they meant to vote for "At McBain's". So two votes have to be subtracted from Grief and added to McBain's. Therefore, the final tally stands as

FIRST PLACE (and now official "host" of next month's contest) goes to RagingInMiami for Babyland




SECOND PLACE goes to alfredo for The Crypt.

19. I like how The Crypt came from behind

to capture second place! I decided to go with the larger version of your photo. Must have had a lousy connection when it wouldn't load. After that it came up fine. It really did make all the difference in impact, imo.

25. I avoided looking at the voting.

I almost didn't check on the results.

I was thinking of dying flowers when I did the colors. The pages of old early 20th century publications lent some inspiration too. The colors smell of fungus.

It was a close contest which made it very interesting.
I'm looking forward to hosting next month's contest, so I'll be coming up with a list of possible themes so you guys can vote on.
