I need to borrow some UK people.
I have a question. A particular co-worker tried to tell me some line about how with socialized medicine in the UK, not only if you have kidney failure and are over 50, not only will you not be treated, but you are and your physician are subject to legal prosecution if if you pay for it out of pocket. Now, that's obviously the biggest pile of bullshit I have ever heard (he probably got it from some sort of odd Rush talking points), but is there anywhere I can go to find further info on this. I told him to prove it and I got "It a fact. I don't have to." Um... yeah. :eyes:

I try to not bring politics into work, but when it comes up, I will say my piece if necessary.

1. Ask him what HMO he works for.
That might have something to do with it.

2. I don't think I'm British enough for you
I can get a passport, but I don't live there. Sounds like a crock to me though.

4. A bit off topic but related....
Medicare pays for treatment of permanent kidney failure among U.S. citizens of any age. To my knowledge, it is the only disease with this kind of blanket coverage.
