Am I the only Red Sox fan who has the sinking feeling of "Gee, it was...
...nice while it lasted."?????

Admit it, deep in your hearts you know they'll never, ever win it.

4. How old are you? If you don't mind me asking?
I think I may be older, and therefore have a longer history of bitterness and defeat--you may still be too young and falsely believe there is hope! There isn't!

12. Unless you were born in 1917, then you have no right having hope!
I really think there's a curse. Game Six in 1986 made me a believer!

16. I'm sure you didn't mean to come across as rude
I have hope...I believe what I want. Maybe I just took your post the wrong way.

Anyhow, I've been a fan for many many years and I think the curse is ridiculous. And I'll still be a fan even if I have to say "wait til next year" again this year. It's been a terrific season. it's been a lot of fun. That's what it's all about to me.

13. There was some hocu-pocus about trying to end it...
...but Bill Stanley was right--the only way to end it is to dig up Babe Ruth's body and apologize to him!

14. The curse of the Bambino is over
There were many instances in the first game that if the curse of the Bambino was still active, they would have gone the other way in favor of the Yankees. Boston went into the house that Ruth built, and soundly beat the Yankees.

No matter which team wins this series, the curse is over.

19. That doesnt mean anything that they started out strong
Remember when they were 13 and a half games ahead in first place. The curse doesnt immidentially come in to affect.

22. LOL.....what instances
Mussina was walking guys left and right. Giambi was swinging at pitches thrown at his cap level, the rest of the Yanks just plain sucked. Boston had to win that game. Now Game 2, with thier 7 men on base and 1 run in 2 innings tells me that the curse (or whatever the fuck it is) is alive and well.

21. The curse is over? NOT!
That's why you all have that sinking feeling, even the ones that won't 'fess up to it! You know it's there. It's the Curse.

Same for the Cubbies. No one knows disappointment like Red Sox and Cubs fans. This whole thing was just to see how pumped up you could get before you were/are slammed back to reality.

MWAAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAA!!

26. I agree NOT
never was and never will be a curse.

Its a ploy to sell books and to make yankee fans show off their grade school quality art and scrapbooking skills.

It took a great Big Red machine, with prior world series experience, to deny the 1975 Boston Redsox the Championship, and 7 games to do it.

snap to Joeybee12. The Sox are coming home with Pedro on the hill, looking to go up 2-1. Did you think the sox would sweep? Its not going to be easy but they are going to win this thing.

Nothing is more exciting to me as a baseball fan than the thought of the Red Sox sipping champagne in the Bowels of Yankee Stadium.
