I wanted Alan Alda to win.
 Although I like Morgan too. I just think Alda did a better job. :(

1. Me, too.
I just don't know who was better because I haven't seen either film.

2. I'm glad Morgan won
I love Alan Alda. I saw "The Aviator" on Friday night and me and my friends came out of the theater and we all said, "why was he nominated for an Oscar" (Alda) because he didn't do anything that wasn't standard Alan Alda mannerisms to my thinking.

4. I thought his work was excellent. While I believe Morgan Freeman
deserves an Oscar for "Shawshank" and was robbed, he just wasn't as good as Alda was. Oh well.

16. you're entitled to your opinion
you're also entitled to leave out any reasons why alan alda is better than morgan freeman, because they might be dashed by my quick wit and snarky banter

3. Me too
I love him, but when I hear his voice I think of Hawkeye. I don't like him being evil... it is hard to picture him evil in a role after 10 years of M*A*S*H

9. yeah...
He played Hawkeye in M*A*S*H (a very very good guy), but he played an "evil" Senator in The Aviator...

7. Awww. Thanks!
 Now, if only Johnny would win (which I doubt will happen with Jamie Foxx and all) I would feel better.

11. I want Johnny to win, too,
but rumor has it that Jamie Foxx has it locked up. Oh well, we both know Johnny will be back next year, and the next, and the next!

8. Alan's 12 years on MASH ruined his chances
I thought he was great in The Aviator, but because he played the same character for so long, in the minds of many, he'll always be Hawkeye.

10. Which isn't a bad thing when you think about it...
I think MANY people try to be just a little bit "Hawkeye" every day.
