1. it depends on how it looks on the person wearing it also

Hillary Swank's dress is something i wouldn't normally think would look good but she looked pretty good in it.

same goes for Natalie Portman's dress.

I don't like that look in formal wear.

I thought Cate Blanchett's was lovely.

Hilary Swank's was a beautiful color....I don't know.
